One of St. Cloud State’s professors will receive a prestigious award for their lifetime accomplishments. Robert C. Johnson who is a professor of Ethnic Studies will receive the inaugural National Association of Ethnic Studies Robert L. Perry Mentorship Award.

Perry was the first African American to earn a PhD at Wayne State and the award honors his lifetime accomplishments while supporting talented professionals who devote countless hours mentoring students and faculty.

Johnson will be receiving the award for his work in helping students become the successful people they are today. He has helped shape programs that have been critical in providing students, especially minority students, the opportunity to transform their lives
