The SCSU football team defeated the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles 66-13 Saturday at Ed Widseth Field in Crookston. The Huskies now await #7 UMD, who will visit Husky stadium in a marquee matchup Saturday afternoon.

 Quarterback Phil Klaphake (Claw-Paw-Key) returned after missing a pair of games with an injury to throw for 342 yards and a touchdown, while Mike Walker rushed for three scores on the afternoon.

 The Huskies set a team record with 770 total yards, and scored nine touchdowns—just one short of the school record for a single game.

 Coming up is the game of the year, not only for the Huskies but for the entire NSIC, as the UMD Bulldogs visit Husky Stadium Saturday. The Huskies lost two games to the Bulldogs at Malosky Stadium last season, including an overtime loss in the second round of the playoffs.
