Archived: SCSU Student Elections Held this Week

St. Cloud State students can make their vote count this week in the fall student elections. One of the hot-button issues on this semester’s ballot is whether student athletic fees should be increased. The referendum proposes to increase student athletic fees by 26 cents per credit in order for students to continue going to SCSU sporting events for free. This amount was established by the Student Government Association in order to offset ticket price increases that have occurred since this current amount was set in 1995. Student Government Association President Michael Jamnick says if the athletic referendum does not pass, students will likely begin paying for athletic events on a game by game basis.
