St. Cloud students overwhelmingly supported an athletic fee increase that will allow them to continue attending athletic competitions for free. In the SCSU fall elections, more than 70% of the voters supported the referendum which will increase student athletic fees by 26 cents, from 65 cents to 91 cents per credit hour.

Nearly 1,700 people voted in the elections, which were conducted between Monday and Wednesday of this week. Student Government Association President Michael Jamnick says he’s never seen voter interest this high, and hopes to have an even higher turnout for the spring elections.
