Archived: SCSU to Host NCAA Central Regional Tournament

What does winning the NSIC Tournament championship result in? For the St. Cloud State baseball team the result is the opportunity to host the NCAA Central Regional Tournament.

The 13th ranked Huskies were tabbed as the number-one seed in the Central Region and will host the tournament at Joe Faber Field from May 19-22. SCSU will go up against NSIC foe Augustana College who they played last weekend in the conference tournament.

Other teams selected to the regional include Mesa State out of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), Minnesota State out of the NSIC, Nebraska-Kearney out of the RMAC and Winona State out of the NSIC.

The tournament is double-elimination and the winner advances on to the NCAA Tournament. This is SCSU’s second straight appearance and third appearance in 20 seasons in the tournament.
