A successful Minnesota businesswoman will be on the St. Cloud State campus Wednesday to speak about business involvement in public policy. As part of the G.R. Herberger College of Business speaking series, Judy Poferl, the president and CEO of Northern States Power Company, will address her belief that businesses need to be engaged in public policy debates and that collaborating with policymakers is a win-win for both sides.

Poferl is responsible for Norther States Power Company’s electric and natural gas operations in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. She has more than 23 years of experience in energy and regulation. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of St. Benedict and her master’s at the University of Minnesota. Her speech will take place Wednesday in the Ritsche Auditorium on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
