The 15th anniversary of a student hunger strike held at St. Cloud State will be commemorated on campus Tuesday and Wednesday. The hunger strike took place in 1995 when seven students urged SCSU administration to bring more racial diversity to the campus community. The events will include a screening of a new documentary about the hunger strike, a ceremonial celebration with Aztec dancers, an educational panel featuring St. Cloud State activist alumni, and a 24-hour fast and ceremony at the Hunger Strike site, between Centennial Hall and the Administrative Services building. The documentary will be shown at 7:00 pm Tuesday in the Atwood Theater.
