Sheriff’s Seeking Help Identifying Hit and Run Suspect
A hit and run accident in the Mayhew Lake Township has left police still searching for answers.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is now seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the incident. On August 22nd at roughly 6 P.M., the Sheriff’s Office responded to a two car accident at the intersection of 65th Street NE and 55th Avenue NE, however, upon their arrival there was only one car remaining at the scene.
Thomas Stang of Sartell said that he was headed east on 65th Street NE with his truck and a trailer. Stang told deputies that another car ran a stop sign at the intersection and hit his trailer causing him to roll over into the ditch. The other came also went into the ditch but managed to work their way out and drove off.

Evidence from the scene of the crash indicates that the suspected vehicle is most likely a 1992-1994 Toyota Camry. The vehicle should have significant damage to the driver side, and the driver of the car is described as a white man who appeared to be less than 40 years old. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
