State officials are conducting an emergency test at the Monticello Nuclear plant today. What does this mean to area residents?
You may see extra activity with emergency vehicles throughout the day as they are reacting to a simulated emergency in Sherburne and Wright counties near the plant.
It’s an annual test with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety working with area city, county and state agencies to test their response time if an actual incident were to actually happen.
The results of today’s test will be reviewed by FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
