Archived: Soccer Tops SWMS 2-0

Firing a season high 19 shots on goal, the St. Cloud State women’s soccer team was able to connect twice against Southwest Minnesota State in a 2-0 victory on Sunday in Marshall. The game belonged to the Huskies from start to finish as SCSU dominated the possession game and attempted 29 total shots.

St. Cloud opened the scoring at the 59:59 mark of the second half with a goal by junior Brooke Eggen and struck again only four minutes later on an Alex Pafko tally. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Molly Bender recorded a shutout in her first collegiate start making five saves.

The Huskies are 3-3 on the season and 1-1 in the NSIC. St. Cloud travels to Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday to take on the Golden Eagles.
