Archived: Soccer Wins Twice At Home

After failing to get on the scoreboard last weekend in Colorado, home cooking was just what the St. Cloud State soccer team needed to get its season on track. Hosting the NSIC Festival at Husky Stadium, St. Cloud State picked up a pair of wins on the weekend, topping Minnesota-Crookston Friday, 3-1, andMinnesota State-Moorhead Sunday, 2-1.
The Huskies opened up the festivities Friday with a pair of goals from junior Alexandra Pafko as well as the first collegiate goal for Kara Dahmen. The Huskies dominated the Golden Eagles, as Crookston did not record a shot till over 40 minutes into the contest.
Sunday, in a game heard right here on KVSC, St. Cloud won their second game over the Dragons from Moorhead with goals from Brooke Eggen and Kayla Kramer. The Dragons scored late, but the Huskies held on to even their season mark to 2-2.
St. Cloud heads on the road for their next four contests as they start NSIC play against Minnesota State-Mankato. The Huskies won’t return home until October 2nd when they host Minnesota Duluth.
