St. Augusta Fire Burns Down Shed

A Mother’s Day fire near St. Augusta caused detours on a major county road.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s office says a passerby noticed smoke coming from a large shed just off of County Road 7 in St. Augusta and called 911. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Augusta and Clearwater Fire Department’s responded to the call Sunday morning and blocked off a section of County Road 7 to connect to a fire hydrant. County Road 7 was closed for several hours and traffic was redirected through the Emerald Ponds neighborhood.

The shed was owned by 59-year-old Bruce Terwey of St. Cloud and is considered a total loss. The shed contained a tractor, van, and other miscellaneous tools.

No injuries were reported.
