Archived: St. Cloud Air Service Secures Partnerships
St. Cloud’s air service campaign led by the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation (GSDC) has announced that they have exceeded $2 million partnership agreements. To help attract an air carrier the GSDC has spoken with over 300 local individuals and businesses in attempt to gain support and secure flights for a potential new air service. The new service would host flights between the St. Cloud Regional Airport and the O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. More than 95 businesses and individuals in the area have committed to book over $2 million in inbound and outbound flights.
The St. Cloud regional Airport was once an active terminal but has been vacant since 2009, when St. Cloud lost air service. The GSDC says air service would generate over 17 million dollars in annual economic impact while also providing easier access to international travel.
