The St. Cloud City Council will consider some hot button issues at its weekly meeting tonight. Council members will consider a resolution appointing Mayor Dave Kleis and Council President Bob Johnson as St. Cloud representatives to the Regional Human Rights Joint Powers Board.

Also tonight, the council is expected to schedule a public hearing on a proposed city ordinance, which would penalize intoxicated people who engage in behavior that is disruptive or disturbs the peace. The proposed ordinance is dubbed the Disruptive Intoxication Ordinance.

The council will also consider approving a quote for surface and street lighting improvements for the Fifth Avenue Live area near St. Cloud State.

Finally, the council tonight will set a public hearing to consider salary and benefits for the mayor and city council members. The council meeting starts at 6:00 at city hall.
