ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The City has closed portions of the University Bridge shoulders as a precaution after discovering deterioration around several manholes.
According to the City Engineer’s Office, the damage is limited to areas immediately surrounding the manholes. Barrel barricades have been placed around the affected areas to keep vehicles out of the damaged sections.
The city plans to address the deterioration during a bridge rehabilitation project scheduled for 2027. The barricades will remain in place until repairs are completed.
All travel lanes remain open to vehicles, and sidewalks are still accessible to pedestrians.
City officials say the bridge remains safe for public use.
