Archived: St. Cloud cost of living index is “average”

A new report says the Saint Cloud area is sitting an average cost of living. Measurements were taken last quarter…and are based on more than 90,000 prices covering 60 items in housing, utilities, groceries, transportation, healthcare, and miscellaneous goods.
Saint Cloud scored a 98.3…about 2% below the national average. In indivuals categories, St. Cloud scored 100.9 for grocery items, 82.5 for housing, 118.2 for utilities, 95.2 for transportation, 101.1 for healthcare and 106 for miscellaneous goods and services. Across the state, Minneapolis sits at 111 overall…Rochester at 98.7…and Eau Claire, WI at 92.7.
