St. Cloud Police arrested 43-year-old James Trenton Powell of Waite Park Wednesday evening after he misused 911 and spit directly in an officer’s face. 

Officers were called to 4th Street North and 9th Avenue North for a complaint of intoxicated males and made contact with Powell. While officers were speaking with him he took out his phone and dialed 911. After hanging up twice when the dispatcher called back, Powell was taken into custody by police and allegedly proceeded to spit in the officer’s face. Powell is being held for court in the Stearns County Jail for fourth degree assault and misuse of 911.
