On Saturday St. Cloud Police were called to a fire at the 1500 block of 33rd Avenue North in St. Cloud around 5 p.m. A police investigation found that 23-year-old Thomas John Koubsky of St. Cloud had intentionally started a fire in the closet of an upstairs bedroom.

Koubsky had told witnesses he intended to burn the building down. Witnesses were able to put the fire out and damage to the building was very minor and no residents were harmed.

Koubsky was arrested for suspicion of third degree arson and was transported to the Stearns County Jail where he is being held for his court appearance.
