Archived: St. Cloud Woman Charged with Murdering Toddler Son
A St. Cloud woman has been officially charged with second degree murder. 31-year-old Nyachual Poch is accused of beating her 22-month-old son to death. Police responded to a medical emergency call at to Poch’s apartment, near St. Cloud State, last Monday afternoon. When they arrived, they found the toddler unresponsive. He was not breathing and had no pulse. The boy was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 pm.
An autopsy the following day determined the child died from multiple traumatic injuries from blunt force trauma. The criminal complaint says the boy had a lacerated liver and other evidence the boy had been hit in the stomach area. The criminal complaint also states that authorities interviewed Poch, who admitted to beating the child with a shoe because he was crying. She also allegedly admitted to police that she hit the boy other times before.
