Archived: Stearns County Seeks Land Use & Zoning Input

If you are someone who develops agriculture, residential, commercial, recreational and public areas in Stearns County, there are some meetings you should probably put on your day planner. Meetings about the Stearns County Land Use and Zoning Update will be held on Tuesday, January 12 at two locations including the Melrose Community Center from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and the Paynesville Area Center from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Another public input meeting is set for January 19 at the Service Center West in Waite Park from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Each of these public meetings will have a half hour presentation followed by an open house. Members of the Ordinance Advisory Committee, County Staff and the project consultants will be available to answer any questions.  Areas of interest that will be highlighted include Natural Resources Overlay/Avon Hills, shore land standards, transfer of development rights, solar energy, kennels, commercial storage, non-conformities, motor vehicle repair and agricultural protection tools. To get more information about the update, visit the county website at www.co.stearns.mn.us
