Archived: Structures Damaged in Van Fire near Avon
A van, shed and garage are damaged after the van caught fire in rural Stearns County, near St John’s University. It happened Monday morning at a home and business on 163rd avenue in Wakefield Township, south of Avon. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says the owner of the home and business, Kenn Tamm, heard a loud popping noise coming from outside his home, looked outside and saw his van on fire. Authorities say the van was parked very close to Tamm’s work shed and garage for his business, Tamm Electric. Tamm was able to pull the van away from the buildings using a skid loader, but the structures were already damaged. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. No one was hurt.
