A section of Third Street North near Seventeenth Avenue North in St. Cloud was shut down Thursday morning for about three hours when a power pole fell down after it was hit by a vehicle.

Officers shut down the road because the fallen pole caused danger to other drivers in the area. Xcel Energy was on the scene of the accident to help with the downed pole.

The vehicle that struck the pole was driven by 44-year-old Samantha Kay Gould. The crash happened just shortly before 5 a.m.
