Archived: Three Arrested in Connection to Gunshot Injury

Police have arrested three men in connection to a shooting that happened last week in St. Cloud. Police arrested the first suspect last week, after the gunshot injury of a 38-year-old woman in St. Cloud. It happened early last Monday morning on the 10th block of 3rd Avenue Northeast. Police say someone fired shots into an apartment and fled. The woman inside the apartment received non life-threatening injuries from the gunshots. Later that day, police arrested 31-year-old Jesse Lamont Jones in connection to five drive-by shootings that have happened in the St. Cloud area over the past few weeks. Jones was arraigned in Benton County Court, where his bail was set at $1 million.

This week, police arrested 35-year-old Michael Thomas Smith and 25-year-old Troy Alexander Chauvin in connection to the shooting. The St. Cloud Police Department is working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms on this case because of its violent nature and ties to gang-related activity. Police say they expect to make more arrests in this case.
