Archived: Tobacco and Alcohol Compliance Checks
St. Cloud police conducted tobacco and alcohol compliance checks from June 16th to August 19th at area businesses.
Of the 62 businesses with tobacco licenses, 8 sold tobacco to underage checkers. The businesses that failed are Mr. Nice Guys, Pilot Travel Center, Schmidty’s Superette, Smoke to Go, Speedstop on Northway Drive, Speedstop on 9th Avenue South, Super America on 32nd Avenue North, and the Liquor Shoppe.
Each person who sold the products received a ticket for sale of tobacco to an underage person and each business will face civil penalties.
Of the 84 businesses with alcohol licenses, 2 sold to underage checkers. The businesses that failed are TGI Fridays and the VFW Granite Post 428. Each of the individuals caught were arrested via long form and will appear in court for allegedly selling alcohol to an underage person.
