A Paynesville woman died in her mobile home on Tuesday after it was engulfed in flames.

The Paynesville Police and Fire Department responded to a fire in the trailer park where initial reports say a man allegedly poured gasoline around the trailer and set it on fire.

Once first responders arrived on scene, they learned an adult woman was inside of the bathroom in her trailer. Life saving measures were performed on her and was then taken to the Paynesville Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Her name has not been released by authorities.

A man was arrested at the scene and taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of injuries and then moved to the Stearns County Jail.

The suspect is held on charges for second-degree murder and awaiting his first court appearance.
