Archived: Twin Cities Casino Aids in Arrest of St. Cloud Bank Robber

The man police say robbed TCF Bank in St. Cloud last week is in custody thanks to a casino in the twin cities. Officials at Mystic Lake Casino were suspicious of one of its patrons Monday. They suspected a 22-year-old man was using money taken in a bank robbery. The casino contacted the Prior Lake Police Department. FBI agents responded and interviewed Salamo Nam Rakotojoelnandrasana, who admitted that he robbed TCF Bank, on 25th Avenue South in St. Cloud, last Wednesday. After the interview, St. Cloud Police searched the suspect’s car and apartment. Officers say they recovered the gun as well as a large chunk of the money stolen in the robbery. Rakotojoelnandrasana is being held in the Scott County Jail awaiting his appearance in federal court.
