Archived: Two Arrested for Alleged Burglary

Two men were arrested when the Benton County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm at a vacant house in Foley. When deputies arrived at the scene they found tracks leading to a snowmobile and sled parked in the driveway. Police found 40-year old Gerald Applegate of Princeton, and 43-year old Shane Sjodin of Oak Grove. According to investigators, several items from the house were found at the front door and in the sled attached to the snowmobile. The two men were taken into custody after the owner of the property informed law enforcement officials that the men did not have permission to be there. Both Applegate and Sjodin are currently being held in the Benton County Jail on charges of 2nd degree burglary and are awaiting trial.
