An alleged robbery and assault took place Sunday afternoon over a bag of Marijuana. Police arrived at the 700 block of 9th Avenue South in Saint Cloud at about 1:30 PM for a reported home invasion. Police say when they arrived, 21 year old Joshua Schmidt of Saint Cloud was leaving the victim’s home with a loaded 12-gauge shotgun and about a half pound bag of suspected marijuana. Officers arrested Joshua Schmidt without incident. A second suspect, 23 year old Ryan Schmidt, was arrested as he fled from the back of the house. Officers say one of the two victims was assaulted by Joshua and Ryan Schmidt as they attempted to rob the victims of marijuana and cash. The victim received minor injuries and refused medical treatment. Joshua and Ryan Schmidt are currently held in the Stearns County Jail on felony first degree burglary charges.  Image is of Joshua Schmidt above.
