A Waite Park woman is recovering after the vehicle she was driving was hit by another vehicle that failed to yield. St. Cloud Police were called to the intersection of Rivercrest Drive and 54th Avenue North around 2:20 p.m. Sunday for a personal injury accident.

A police investigation found that 24-year-old Joshua John Lavalle of Rice failed to yield the right of way as he was turning northbound onto 54th Avenue North from Rivercrest Drive.

Police say Lavalle hit a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Cara Lee Cherne who was heading southbound on 54th Avenue North. Cherne was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Lavalle was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way and expired registration.
