Archived: UPDATE: Officials Identify Royalton Man Killed in Crash

Police have identified the Royalton man who died in a car crash Wednesday afternoon as Frederick Doble. The crash happened just before 3:00 pm at the intersection of County Road 17 and River Street in Holdingford. According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department, 56-year-old Theresa Litchy was driving eastbound on 17 when she collided with a van coming from the other direction driven by Frederick Doble of Royalton. The Sheriff’s Department says Doble man got out of his car and inspected the damage. That’s when they say he was hit by a westbound car driven by 56-year-old Larry Litchy of Holdingford. Doble was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say slippery conditions may have contributed to this incident.

The Sheriff’s Department says Larry Litchy is the former husband of Theresa Litchy. The fact that they were both involved in this crash, they say, is “totally random.”
