Waite Park Police are investigating an accident after a vehicle crashed into a building Monday night. Police were called to 141 28th Avenue South around 9:20 p.m. for a report of a vehicle accident. When officers arrived, they met with 52-year-old Tim Cooney of St. Joseph who was driving the vehicle.

Cooney told police he was driving northbound on 28th Avenue approaching County Road 138 when he fell asleep, crossed the southbound lane of traffic, jumped the curb and ran into the building. Officers say the vehicle entered the building about half a car length causing interior and exterior damage. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
