Archived: Volleyball Signs Marika Paumen

The St. Cloud State Volleyball team continues to add fresh faces to their roster as they announced the signing of Marika Paumen, a versatile player from Osego, Minnesota. Paumen was a four-year varsity player at Rogers High School where she was well decorated with honors. The 5′ 8" hitter was a team captain for the Royals, and also earned team MVP honors twice. In her high school career she notched 700 kills and nearly 500 digs. In 2007, she was also selected to an international team that traveled to play in Australia.
According to new St. Cloud head coach Michelle Blaeser, Paumen has played both middle blocker and outside hitter, but Blaeser may consider using her at the right side position. The Husky volleyball team opens their season September 3rd.
