Archived: Waseca Man Arrested for Alleged Burglary

A 27-year-old Waseca man is in jail after allegedly burglarizing a home in rural Benton County. It happened just before 10:00 pm Monday at a home on 175th Avenue Northeast in Glendorado Township. The Benton County Sheriff’s Department says no one was home at the time, but a friend of the homeowner noticed suspicious activity and called 911 while the burglary was in progress. When officers arrived at the home, they found the suspect, Tyler Janovsky, in one of the outbuildings. When Janovsky spotted the deputies, officials say he ran away. After a brief foot chase and subsequent struggle, Janovsky was arrested for 1st degree burglary. A search warrant was executed at the home and deputies found products commonly used to make methamphetamine. Sheriff’s officials say these items were brought to the burglary scene by Janovsky. Charges for possession and manufacture of methamphetamine against Janovsky are pending.
