Archived: Where’s My Precinct Caucus?

It’s an important night if you’re one of the 30 candidates running for governor in Minnesota and if you consider yourself politically engaged.  Precinct caucuses are being held after dinner time Tuesday in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

The race features 30 candidates, including 14 Democrats, 8 Republicans and 5 Independence Party hopefuls. Incumbent Governor Tim Pawlenty won’t be on the ballot. Anyone eligible to vote in the 2010 election can attend a local caucus. Five political parties are holding caucuses – the Constitution, Democratic-Farmer-Labor, Green, Independence and Republican parties.

To find where a precinct caucus may be in your area, St. Cloud’s City Clerk’s office recommends visiting the Minnesota Secretary of State’s web site. Once there, you can input your information on a link simply called "Find Your Precinct Caucus Location". The locations are NOT the same as where you might vote on election day.
