Archived: Winter Storm to Bring Four to Eight Inches

Today’s winter storm is expected to add another four to eight inches of snow to the six to seven inches already on the ground. That snow is expected by SCSU’s Professor of Meteorology, Bob Weisman, coming down at a rate of half an inch to an inch an hour. Winds during that snowfall will be blowing at eight to fifteen Miles per hour, enough to bring down snow at an angle, but not so much to make being outside painful or difficult. That being said, the snow will fall hard enough to make it difficult to keep roads clear during the afternoon rush hour. The heaviest snow is expected to fall in central Minnesota, including St. Cloud, Alexandria, Willmar, and the Metro area. The height of the snowfall is expected to be during the afternoon to early evening. For more from Bob Weisman, tune in to KVSC at twelve-thirty tomorrow.
