Archived: Witt Named Preseason Player of Year

St. Cloud State University men’s basketball point guard Taylor Witt has been named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Player of the Year.
 

The 6’3” point guard played and started all 35 games last year for the Huskies, the only player to do so on the squad. Witt had an amazing season in 2009-2010, averaging 16.7 points per game and scoring 583 total points. The 583 points are the 7th-highest single season total in team history.
 

The Morris, Minnesota native also showed off his passing skills, dishing out 4.7 assists-per-game and moving into 10th all time in career assists in school history. The senior is a 2010-2011 team captain and his Husky squad will take on St. John’s November 15th in the season opener.
