Archived: Woman Airlifted After Vehicle Hits Tree
A Sauk Rapids woman was seriously injured after her car left the road and hit a tree early Wednesday morning. Benton County Sheriff Officers were called to a one vehicle accident in the 3300 block of Little Rock Road Northeast in Mayhew Lake Township just before 8 a.m. Officers say that a 48-year-old Sauk Rapids woman was pinned in her car when officers arrived.
Deputies were able to get the woman out of the car after using force to pry open the doors. The victim was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital for her serious and potentially life threatening injuries. A Sheriff investigation found that the vehicle was heading westbound on Little Rock Road Northeast when the victim lost control of the vehicle and slid into the south ditch before hitting a tree. Officials believe the victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
