A 56-year-old woman is hospitalized after getting hit by a car while crossing the street. It happened just after 6:00 am Monday at the intersection of 33rd Avenue North and 8th Street in St. Cloud. Police say the driver, 33-year-old Jared Scepaniak of Upsala, was turning left on 8th Street from northbound 33rd Avenue when he struck a pedestrian, 56-year-old Joann Lutgen of St. Cloud. She was brought to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Scepaniak was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
