Thirty year old Carrie Lynn Hildebrant of St. Cloud died in a head-on car crash Monday afternoon.  Police were called shortly after 4:30 p.m. to the 2800 block of County Road 136. Officers investigating the crash learned that a vehicle driven by 50 year old Andy Leroy Elwood of St. Cloud was driving southbound on County Road 136 while a second car was northbound. The southbound vehicle hit the northbound one in a head-on collision in the northbound lane of the roadway.

Elwood, the driver of the southbound car was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital to be treated for substantial injuries. Hildebrant was  pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiners Office for autopsy.  Neither vehicle had any other occupants. The St. Cloud Fire Department assisted at the scene with the extraction of both drivers. The St. Cloud Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident at this time.
