Late heroics by the St. Cloud State womens basketball team led to a Friday win 73-71 over the University of Mary but the Huskies couldn’t complete the perfect weekend as they fell to Northern State 71-60 on Saturday in Aberdeen, S.D.
In the win over Mary, guard Talisha Barlow made a layup with 11 seconds left to lift the Huskies to the victory. First-year forward Jessica Benson had her first double-double of her career with 20 points and ten rebounds in the win.
The Huskies couldn’t take down Northern State on Saturday despite a career high 17 points from Amanda Wagner. SCSU’s offense struggled as they shot just 31 percent from the floor.
SCSU is now 4-2 overall with a 1-1 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference record.
