Archived: Women’s Hockey Swept By Gophers

The zero still looms in the win column as the St. Cloud State Women’s Hockey team again came up winless in a road series at the University of Minnesota. The Golden Gophers beat the punchless Huskies 8-0 on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday.

The Huskies were without the services of some key players with Brittany Toor and Jaclyn Daggit both missing Friday’s game. The Gophers jumped all over the Huskies Friday and never looked back in the blowout win. Saturday’s game was much more competitive. Minnesota scored first but SCSU’s Molli Mott tied the game with her fourth goal of the season in the second period. However the Gophers pulled away for the 4-1 win. The Huskies sit at 0-28-1 on the season.

With time winding down to get a win, St. Cloud State returns home this weekend to play host to Minnesota State. SCSU sits at eighth in the WCHA and MSU seventh, so this is likely the Huskies best chance to get a victory.

Puck drop is at 7:07 Friday and Senior Day will take place on Saturday. St. Cloud State will honor seniors Ashley Nixon, Courtney Josefson, Alecia Anderson, and Diana Karouzos before a 2:07 faceoff. Updates will be available via our Twitter page.
