Archived: Women’s Hockey’s Nelson Player of Week

A five point game against MSU-Mankato this past weekend has helped Felicia Nelson gain offensive player of the week honors in the WCHA.

The senior from Saint Paul, Minnesota scored 25 seconds into Friday’s 6-1 victory over the Mavericks and chipped in a career high four assists. The nation’s leading goal scorer now has 25 on the season and her point total stands at 35 through 27 games. Nelson and the Huskies will take on the No. 2 ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers this weekend in a home and home series. Friday’s game is down at Ridder Arena at 7:07 p.m., and then the series concludes Saturday afternoon at 2:07 p.m. at the National Hockey Center. Of note, Saturday’s game is senior day as Nelson and the eight other seniors on the team will be honored.
