You Can Pre-Register for the Presidential Primary in Stearns County

It’s not too early to get ready for the presidential primary in Central Minnesota.

Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer Randy Schreifels is reminding residents that voter registration for the Presidential Nomination Primary is available online. The online application can be accessed at mnvotes.org.

Voters may register or update their existing registration on the site.

Pre-registration for the Presidential Nomination Primary is open until Tuesday, February 11. Voters who register on or before that date will have their names placed on the roster in their polling place for the Presidential Nomination Primary on March 3rd.

You can also vote on primary day in person. You can find your polling place at the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website.

Minnesota scrapped the presidential caucus system in 2016 and is now holding a presidential primary by voting in person. The absentee ballot deadline date has now passed. Only the two major parties, the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and the Republican Party, will be on the ballot.

Any questions can be directed to the Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer’s office at 320.656.3920 or by email at elections@co.stearns.mn.us.
