KVSC plays tons of different genres of music on air and our music department does the best they can to get the best music into our studios.

Although we do follow some "rules" as to what can or cannot be played on air, we are willing to give everything a listen! The number 1 rule that KVSC’s music department follows is that we will not play any Top 40 hit that a majority of other radio stations are playing. We are all about variety and offering listeners a sound alternative. 

We also love local music, Minnesotan artists are frequently featured on our airwaves. To get a good idea of what our listeners and staff members are fans of, tune in to 88.1FM and check out our programming guide here or check out our playlist archive here. But, as previously stated, we will give anything a listen. And you don’t know if it will get air play or not unless you submit it.

If you are interested in getting your music played on the KVSC airwaves please follow the specific guidelines here. Once your music is submitted you are welcome to contact the music department to see if it is getting played on air. But please do not over-contact or call too frequently; hounding our staff will not help you get air play.
