Wet and Icy Roads Send Multiple People to the Hospital

Wet and icy roads have led to a handful of car accidents in the St. Cloud area.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported at least four accidents on Wednesday were caused by hydroplaning or drivers losing control after hitting a patch of ice. Multiple people were sent to the St. Cloud Hospital due to car accidents between noon and 9p.m.
The Minnesota state patrol wants to remind everyone not to over drive road conditions. Drive slower when water is present on the road and to give yourself extra breaking time in these icy conditions.

Snow Causes roof to cave in on University Drive

With all the snow officially cleared from the road and large amounts of rain on the way, the city of St. Cloud now has a new concern at the forefront can roofs handle all the extra weight.
Over the weekend one St. Cloud building was condemned after its roof caved in. The building on the corner of University Drive and 9th Avenue South was home to Subway, Kwik Fix Electronics and Campus Book Supply. The collapse happened just after 6 p.m. Saturday night. Subway was the only business open at the time, luckily no one was hurt and a majority of the damaged was contained to the book store.
The area has been roped off and the city has ordered the building to be demolished by the end of the week.

St. Cloud Calls Off Snow Emergency

The city of St. Cloud has officially called off the snow emergency issued over the weekend.
St. Cloud Maintenance supervisor Tom Zabinski says the streets have now been cleared to the best of their abilities and says thank you to everyone in the community for their efforts to clear the streets so plows could get through.
The St. Cloud Odd Even Winter parking Schedule is now back in full effect.
