Huskies Win Home Opener Over Golden Eagles

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – On Saturday, St. Cloud State men’s basketball added to their good start to conference play. Playing their first home game, the Huskies beat Minnesota-Crookston 83-68. SCSU had the Golden Eagles under control from opening tip to the final buzzer. The Huskies led for over 34 minutes of the 40 total minutes played.

The Huskies were led by an efficient Luke Winkel on offense. The sophomore scored 25 points, shooting nine of 13 from the field, dishing out five assists as well. Junior Anish Ramlall played the most of any Husky, anchoring SCSU’s defense with three steals and a block. Junior Wyatt Hawks and sophomore Bob Greichen controlled the glass, leading the Huskies to outrebound Crookston 49-28.

SCSU will go back on the road this Wednesday, as they will take a quick trip to Concordia-St. Paul. Wednesday’s game is slated to start at 5:30 p.m. and will be on 97.5 FM RadioX.
