Annette Lee Hosts the Native Skywatchers Workshop at the Stearns History Museum

In this installment of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, we are all made of stars as we look to the sky for Part 1 of 2 about the Native Skywatchers Workshop that was held at the Stearns History Museum in May of 2015. Today, Arts and Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack sits down with the facilitator of the workshop, SCSU Astronomy Professor Annette Lee, to discuss how Dakota, Lakota, and Ojibwe celestial culture complements the way American culture views the stars as well as how even the languages used to talk about the stars reflects modern scientific knowledge of where life on earth comes from.

This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
