Jim Landwehr’s book Dirty Shirt: A Boundary Waters Memoir at the Stearns History Museum’s Book Club

Sometimes the fish really does get away, but the adventure in losing it makes for solid family bonding.  In this installment of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, Arts and Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack talks with author Jim LandwehrDescription: http://www.kvsc.org/userfiles/image/CoverArtDirtyShirtFinal.jpg about his book Dirty Shirt: A Boundary Waters Memoir.  Dirty Shirt is a multi-generational journey through one of the most unique landscapes that Minnesota has to offer.

Through a series of canoe trips in the Boundary Waters, Jim and his brothers have come to know more about their father, who died when they were all very young, and along the way they also discover how to develop lasting, strong bonds with their own children.  Landwehr was in town in December of 2014 reading from his memoir at the Stearns History Museum’s Book Club and we spoke before his appearance.

This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
