The Untold Story of Karen Kruse, Madison Elementary Teacher of over 40 Years

Her career began in the era of bell bottoms and disco, and it doesn’t look like she’s stopping any time soon. In today’s Untold Story of Central Minnesota, Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack sits down with St. Cloud School District music teacher Karen Kruse to discuss her 40+ years at Madison Elementary. Some of her former students are now in their 50s with their grandkids now in her classes and on her stage, and although much has changed in the world of education over the years, one thing has always remained the same, kids are kids and they’ve always needed the same thing, love.

This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
