The Untold Story of Salome Dancing the Seven Veils Upon St. Cloud State University’s Center Stage

In this visually transcendent installment of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack gets a chance to talk with director Jeffrey Bleam and lead actors Tim Thole and Amber Samson from St. Cloud State University’s production of Salome, running through Sunday, Feb 26.

Salome is a highly contemplative and potentially uncomfortable play written by Oscar Wilde in 1891 about the costs of desire and the struggle with beauty. Director Jeffrey Bleam takes Wilde’s biblical and poetic story about the death of John the Baptist and creates a moving painting of emotional and archetypical conflict that absolutely translates into today’s world.

This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
